AFH is host to one of the largest collections of youth-created fine art.

Our collection is bold, exciting, and reflective of the new vision of a culturally diverse Boston and beyond.

We create works for exhibition and purchase, commissioned paintings for public spaces and private collections, murals and interactive painting experiences.

Teen artists' first project when starting in the Painting Studio is a self-portrait, providing a platform for self expression and artistic freedom.

By applying the fundamentals of color mixing and theory, form and proportion teens explore their identity and build confidence in the process of sketching and scaling their work onto their first canvas. Teens' self-portraits and subsequent artwork become part of AFH's fine art collection, available for purchase or leasing. Teens gain recognition through exhibition and a commission in addition to their wages for each piece sold.

In addition to working on individual pieces and expressing their own voices through painting, teens who work in the Painting Studio contribute to large-scale projects for clients, including custom murals, both indoors and outdoors, commissioned paintings, creative engagements and more!
